Life

As students, technicians, and postdoctoral fellows, you have plenty of opportunities to interact with each other to share your scienfic ideas and life experiences. At the Moran Eye Center, each floor has a comfortable break/conference room, where you can take a break from your hectic work, make your own coffee, have your lunch, and chat with other people. At our monthly VIG club, you can informally present your research and get feedback from your fellow researchers. The Moran Eye Center also holds a monthly lunch social event. During this event, you have chance to know other colleagues around the center while enjoying a free delicious lunch.

The Moran Eye Center is on the campus of the University of Utah. UTA TRAX starts from the Moran Eye Center, passes through the whole campus, and goes directly to Salt Lake City downtown in 20 minutes. In the downtown area, you can visit historic sites, enjoy urban parks, shop in big malls, taste foods of different cuisines, and participate in various culture events. Additionally, the University campus is close to many outdoor attractions. In the winter, you can ski in many world class ski resorts within 30 minute drive. In other seasons, you can go fishing, hiking, biking, swimming, camping and many more. Even though you are not that enthusiastic for these outdoor activities, Utah offers you various fantastic views of mountains, canyons, deserts, lakes, and reservoirs.
