The Yang lab studies the molecular mechanisms underlying hereditary retinal degeneration and hearing loss. The lab is also striving to develop treatments for these diseases. Dr. Junhuang Zou won 2014 Emerging Research Grant from the Hearing Health Foundation and 2013 Research Award from the National Organization for Hearing Research Foundation.

Dr. Qian Chen won 2013 Career-Starter Research Grant from the Knights Templar Eye Foundation.

Dr. Jun Yang was awarded Retinitis Pigmentosa Special Scholar by Research to Prevent Blindness Nelson Trust in 2013.
